Anastasios Ioannidis holds a BA in Law and a BA in German Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has also completed a MA at the Faculty of Law of the University of Cologne, a MA in Conference Interpreting and an MA in Language and Culture in the German-Speaking Area at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His PhD thesis title is "Theoretical overview and empirical analysis of Court Interpreting as a means of protecting human rights: The Case of Greece in comparison with the German speaking EU Member States".
He has been working as a lawyer, translator, interpreter, as well as translators’ and conference interpreters' trainer at the Ionian University and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has participated with announcements in Translation conferences in Greece and abroad.
His research interests and publications focus on Interpreting Studies.
