Student Activities

Students of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) had created two interest based groups, DFLTI Deutsch and Francomanie, respectively; these groups organize events and educational presentations. These two groups combined forces and now DFLTI’s students have one, new, group for such events: DFLTI VOICE.

DFLTI VOICE

DFLTI VOICE is a new, fresh and collective group run by students for students. It is a place to share thoughts, ideas, knowledge and experiences.

Visit the DFLTI VOICE website or its pages on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube where you will find:

  • Various articles
  • Updates on events
  • Listings of past events
  • Interesting news
  • Students' activities and much more.

Additionally, DFLTI VOICE organises webinars and one-day events on:

  • Translation and Interpreting
  • Culture
  • Politics
  • Labour market
  • Social issues

Lastly, DFLTI Voice has already interviewed and plans to interview more DFLTI professors and alumni as well as of people with significant social work.

I Guide U

Another initiative of DFLTI VOICE is the “I Guide U” program, in which small groups of third and fourth-year students provide guidance and advice to first and second-year students as well as to Erasmus students. Their help revolves around:

  • Dealing with the change and transition from High School to University
  • Adapting to a new academic reality

In collaboration with the teaching staff, this initiative aims in creating a cycle of cooperation, solidarity and mutual assistance in DFLTI’s student community.
