The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) has created an intradepartmental research area, a Hive, which consists of scientific and research clusters.
Objectives
This initiative addresses the ways through which interlingual and intercultural communication assist in the resolution of modern issues. Research clusters, which constitute a coordinated initiative from members of the Teaching and Research Staff, explore and propose solutions to such issues that concern DFLTI and society at large.
Take a look at DFLTI’s Teaching and Research Staff.
Structure
DFLTI encourages the creation of clusters as described above.
Each hive consists of:
- The Principal Investigator (teaching staff member)
- At least one more teaching staff member
- A number of PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and students, depending on its research objectives and requirements.
The Institute of Linguistic Studies and Translation and Interpretation Sciences of Ionian University’s Research Center evaluates proposals for the creation of such clusters.
