The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) offers postgraduate studies in the Science of Translation. It is a tuition-free and flexible 3-semester program. It was founded in 1998 and has been restructured to meet the demands of the modern labour market.
In June 2024, the MA in the Science of Translation was certified for the next five years (2024-2029) as a member of the European Commission's European Master's in Translation (EMT) network, confirming the high quality education provided to its students.
Scope of the MA "Science of Translation"
The MA “Science of Translation” offers specialised knowledge in the following fields:
- Theory and Practice of Translation
- Didactics of Translation
- New technologies in Translation
- Audiovisual Translation
- LSP Translation (Economic, Legal, Political and Medical) as well as Literary Translation.
Its working languages are mainly Greek and English, but also references French and German.
