In this course presentation and discussion of extracts belonging to the so-called "village literature", and also from humorous stories, historical novels and modern literary trends that have been influenced by socio-political developments from the decades 1950 until today. In addition to the lectures relevant visual material is provided.
The basic aims of the course are:
- the further acquaintance of the students with writers and literary works of the periods from 1950 until today.
- the familiarization with a different civilization through the understanding and application of the knowledge in acts such as the translation of literary texts.
- The analysis of modern literary works from Turkish language
- The full understanding of knowledge so that the students can evaluate and judge literary works through combination of the acquired knowledge in this course and also from the course of “History of Turkish Literature”.

Face to face/ The course is done in the form of lectures that has an interactive form (questions from students and discussion on literary works) which is the knowledge base of the course. In this framework the visual material that is uploaded in opencourses platform with relevant notes.
The use of new technologies fosuses on the presentation of powerpoints, videos, interviews and, when needed, of film extracts belonging to literary works tunred into movies.
Written examination in which students are examined in theoretical knowledge that acquired both in recognition and analysis of known literary texts. In special occasions the ability of writing a project is given.
