In order to help students understand basic economic issues and take into account that work is one of the key factors of production, the course analyzes historical and contemporary texts related to labor issues: historical evolution of working conditions (Late Middle Ages, New Modern Age), theories about labor (labor theory of value, etc.), structure, organization and operation of professional associations, founding acts, statutes, legal acts of labor relations, payment, professional ethics and ethics, state labor policy, etc. , in the Greek but also in the wider European area (14th-21st century).

Upon the end of this seminar, students will be able to:

• Present and analyze historical issues of Europe, in order to achieve knowledge, familiarity, understanding and consolidation.
• Use work concepts in different contexts.
• Develop the ability to comment on historical texts about labor relations.
• Develop the ability to evaluate labor issues.

Acquire competence in the use and utilization of historical knowledge concerning labor history, as well as modern working relationships, during the execution of a translation project.​
