In the context of students' acquaintance with Turkish Literature, the historical and social parameters that shaped the thinking of the first literary scholars shortly before and after the establishment of the modern Turkish state are examined. Then, the poetic production is examined during the period: late 19th century until today. In third level writers and literary works of these periods that laid the foundations for the appearance of the production of literature of the decades 1960 and 1970 that constitute the “matrix” for the rapid multi-level development of the “Modern Turkish Literature” from the decade 1980.
The basic aims of this course is:
- the acquaintance of the students with writers and literary works of these periods that laid the foundations for the appearance of the production of literature of the decades 1960 and 1970.
- the familiarization with a different civilization through the understanding and application of the knowledge in acts such as the translation of literary texts.
- the analysis of literary works from Turkish language.
- the full understanding of the knowledge so that the students can attend the course of “Modern Turkish Literature”.
- the understanding of the way of thinking and mentality of the neighboring people, as expressed through modern literature.

Face to face/ The course is done in the form of lectures that have an interactive form (questions from students and discussion on literary works) which is the knowledge base of the course. In this framework the visual material that is uploaded in opencourses platform with relevant notes.
Use of ICT in teaching.
Written examination in which students are examined in theoretical knowledge that acquired both in recognition and analysis of known literary texts. In special occasions the ability of writing a project is given.
