Angeliki Sidiropoulou has studied at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the School of Humanities of the Ionian University (2003-2007) and continued her studies at postgraduate level at the same University specializing in "Theory and Didactics of Translation and Interpretation". Her PhD thesis at the School of Humanities of the Ionian University on "French poetry through poetry anthologies – Contribution to the reception of French poetry in Greece in the 20th century" was presented in May 2017 and was unanimously awarded the grade "Excellent". As part of her studies, she studied Translation and Interpretation at the Institut de Traduction et d'Interprétation, Université Marc Bloch, Strasbourg.
She has translated into French two poetry collections by Nasos Vayenas. Her research interests include literary translation from and into French, especially the translation of poetry, as well as the Greek-French intellectual affinities and spiritual relationships of the 20th century.
Her professional experience consists in providing translation services since 2014 and her teaching experience focuses on foreign language (French and English) teaching since 2008. In addition, she has worked at the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University. She has also published numerous translations and studies in well-known literary journals and has participated in conferences on translation studies. Her monographs of "French poetry through poetry anthologies – Contribution to the reception of French poetry in Greece in the 20th century" as well as "Le Champ de Mars - Bilingual edition of the poetry collection "Pedion Areos" by Nasos Vayenas" are under publication.
