During the course specialised texts for specific purposes are examined and translated such as technical manuals, instructions for use, instructions for drugs taking etc.
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will:
- be introduced to technical translation issues and will acquire the skills needed for the translation of specialised texts
- learn how to use technical dictionaries, regarding German business terminology (Firmenbranding).
learn to conduct a thorough terminology research and study the technical nature of each text by finding relevant and valid resources. - be able to translate technical texts. Focus will be placed on manuals and safety instructions of German electrical equipment and pharmaceuticals’ safety instructions.
