Short Description:

In this course the knowledge acquired in the previous level regarding grammar, syntax and vocabulary are promoted. Special attention is given to the translation from Turkish to Greek of various texts of high difficulty and also translation from Greek to Turkish of medium-difficulty texts. 

Objectives - Learning Outcomes:

The desirable learning outcomes are:

  • Very good reading and studying of long texts that mainly regard current problems and also short literature texts.
  • Very good knowledge of the basic grammar and syntax structures of the Turkish language
  • The ability of translation of texts of medium-high level of difficulty

The understanding of the way of thinking of the neighboring country, as expressed through language codes.

Because the provided knowledge in this semester is linked to the knowledge from the previous one, attention is given to the further widening of the students’ understanding regarding the text expression. The result is that the students can distinguish the various types of writing appearing in different texts.

Teaching Methods:

Face to face / In this course a combination of new grammar knowledge is done (see new and relatively complex structures) and vocabulary with the presentation of texts of high difficulty, which contain the two previous elements. Moreover, there is solving of exercises and offering of studying material (audio and visual material, notes) in opencourses platform. 

New Technologies:

The use of new technologies constitutes in interacting with the students through the visual representation of texts either for their translation or listening.

Evaluation Methods:

The evaluation of students is done exclusively through written examination in the end of the semester. The examination comprises of translation, Turkish-Greek and Greek-Turkish of unknown text of high difficulty. The type of examination is uploaded in opencourses.
