Short Description:

More necessary basic knowledge of grammar and its application in texts of basic level of difficulty are offered. In this context, more basic structures and some additional “building blocks” of the Turkish language are examined.

 

Objectives - Learning Outcomes:

This course aims at:

* further deepening of knowledge acquired in the previous level.

* students’ ability to recognize grammar, syntax and vocabulary phenomena, practice  exercises.

* in the end of the semester the students are capable to read and translate easily short and simple texts.

* familiarization of students with the way of thinking of the neighboring country, as expressed through language codes.

 

 

Syllabus:

Week 1:

More simple verb tenses and verb moods

Week 2:

More simple verb tenses and verb moods

Week 3:

Forming nouns and adjectives from verb stems, the formation of simple sentences, types of sentences

Week 4:

Compound Verb tenses, embedding previous material through written and audio texts

Week 5:

Compound Verb tenses, embedding previous material through written and audio texts

Week 6:

introduction to specific language types such as: basic productive endings, necessity-possibility-optative

Week 7:

introduction to specific language types such as: basic productive endings, necessity-possibility-optative

Week 8:

Infinitives, simple participles and gerunds

Week 9:

Infinitives, simple participles and gerunds 

Week 10:

Embedding acquired knowledge through the translation of basic difficulty texts (such as: Benim Güzel Okulum, Bahçe işleri, Güvercin ile karınca, Koca arslanın hastalığı)

Week 11:

Embedding acquired knowledge through the translation of basic difficulty texts (such as: Benim Güzel Okulum, Bahçe işleri, Güvercin ile karınca, Koca arslanın hastalığı)

Teaching Methods:

Face to face / In this course further grammar and syntax phenomena are presented. The understanding of them comes from the interaction with students and through the solving of exercises and the offering of studying material (audio and visual material, notes) in opencourses platform. 

 

New Technologies:

Use of ICT in teaching.

Evaluation Methods:

The evaluation of students is done exclusively through examination in the end of the semester. The examination comprises of solving exercises in grammar phenomena, which are already taught to the students. The type of examination is uploaded in opencourses.
