The course is based on subjects which at first have little difficulty in terms of terminology and are later based on more difficult topics of general interest. The lesson is taught as follows: the subject is given to the students and in the next lesson we discuss the translation they have already prepared and after their mistakes are labeled, the final text is translated as a solution.
To provide students with a strong foundation in French language so that they can easily cope with translational difficulties.
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Understand Basque texts and interpret them in order to conduct accurate translations
- Recognize the specific characteristics of different kinds of texts
- conduct fluent translations
- approach critically and contrast the Greek and the French language
1st week: Introduction to translation from Greek to French.
In the first lesson, an approach to the difficulties of the translation act from the source language, namely the Greek to the target language, i.e. the French, is made. At the end of the course students are given the text they will have to translate.
2nd week: Analysis of students' work, correction of errors, explanations and conclusion to a final reliable translation of the original text.
