Translation Spanish ‒ Greek IIIn this course, the students approach theoretical and practical translational peculiarities of specialized Spanish texts and of the Spanish (legal and scientific) terminology. Texts of various levels of difficulty are selected according to the abilities of the students.
In this course, students translate specialized texts from Spanish to Greek. Because Spanish is not one of the main working languages of the DFLTI, the course aims at improving the knowledge of the Spanish language of students who already know Spanish. In fact, its the main goal is to help the them apply their knowledge and translation skills (which are already acquired from the translation courses of the main working languages of the Department, i.e. English, French and German) and translate specialised (legal, technical, scientific) Spanish texts. Therefore, they will develop translation skills in relation to the specialized language and will acquire translation experience from the translation of specialised Spanish texts.
Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Know how to analyze specialized Spanish texts
- Understand the semantic structure of specialized Spanish texts
Understand the textual environment of specialized Spanish texts and LSP
