Short Description:

Short description: The course focuses on the deepening of the German language at level B2. Syntactic, morphological, semantic and lexical issues of the German language are presented, analyzed and explained and are framed by relevant exercises. By this, the linguistic and communicative competence of the students in the German language is cultivated. At the same time, the students' ability to compare linguistically is developed, as similarities and differences between the German and Greek languages are in the focus of intellectual purvey.  Finally, there is constant reference to possible translation problems arising from the culture-language pair German/Greek.

Objectives - Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to:

 

  • understand the syntactic, morphological, semantic peculiarities of the German language at B2 level
  • apply the acquired knowledge to improve the production of correct oral and written speech in the German language
  • deal more effectively with communication in the German language
  • distinguish and identify similarities and differences between the German and Greek language
  • sharpen their language skills in German and distinguish possible translation difficulties with regard to the language pair German/Greek

Teaching Methods:

Face-to-face / Electronic material available covering the entire syllabus. Material is available through the e-class platform and is the basis for the translation exercises. Students are asked to prepare the translations and present them in class.
