Vlachopoulos Stefanos: Curriculum VitaeStefanos Vlachopoulos is Professor of Interlingual Communication in Intercultural Settings. He holds a BA in Translation (1991), a BA in Interpreting (1993) and a Doctorate in translation (1999). Before joining academia, he worked as a language teacher, translator and interpreter.
His main areas of research are domain-specific communication (legal and business), legal translation, legal and public service interpreting, lexicography and curriculum development. He has managed competitive research projects mostly in the field of legal and public service interpreting. He is the author of five books, numerous papers and book chapters.
From 2000 he held teaching and administrative positions at the Department of Applied Foreign Languages in Management and Commerce and the Department of Business Administration at the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus in Greece. Since 2020 he has been teaching at the Department of Foreign Languages Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University.
