Dr Anastasia Parianou is Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting at the Ionian University. She has a degree in Translation from Heidelberg University, a DEA in Τranslation Studies from Paris X-Nanterre, and a PhD in Translation Studies from the Ionian University in Corfu (Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting – DFLTI) where she currently teaches technical translation (German-Greek, Greek-German), intercultural specialized communication, theory of interpreting and community interpreting.
Her main areas of research and publication are on technical translation, specialized translation and risk communication, translation between major and minor languages, interpreting, phraseology studies.
She is co-editor of the translation journal mTm ("MTM. Minor Translating Major-Major Translating Minor-Minor Translating Minor"), together with Michael Cronin from DCU and Panagiotis Kelandrias from DFLTI.
