Dr Marina Pappa is Assistant Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages Translation and Interpreting at the Ionian University. She studied Modern Languages Translation and Interpreting at the Ionian University and obtained degrees in Translation and Interpreting. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature and a BA in French Language and Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She holds an MA in Translation, an MA in Language Teaching and an MSc in Applications of Technology in Language and Communication. She also holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD in Comparative Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (part of the research was carried out within the framework of the PhD program of European Studies under the coordination of the University of Bologna – DESE).
She taught at the University of the Aegean, the University of Peloponnese, the University of Central Greece (University of Thessaly), the Hellenic Open University, the Athens School of Fine Arts and the National School of Public Administration. During her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she obtained scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation.
Her research interests are related to interpreting studies, discourse analysis, translation, and language teaching as well as new technologies in language and communication.
