Eirini Dimitra Spitieri is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University. Her doctoral research focuses on the "Development and Validation of Models (Semi-empirical and Machine Learning) for the Recognition and Classification of Underwater Noise Using Passive Acoustic Sensors". Concurrently, she is expanding her expertise by pursuing an MSc in "Digital Technologies in Hospitality Management and Tourism" at the same institution. She also holds an MSc in Geography and Applied Geoinformatics and a BSc in Marine Sciences from the University of the Aegean.
She possesses a strong technological background that directly supports her research activities, specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS, ArcMap, QGIS) and Remote Sensing. Furthermore, she has an excellent command of databases and statistical/programming tools, including SQL, MySQL, R, and SPSS. Her academic experience includes serving as a GIS Laboratory Assistant at the University of the Aegean, where she provided teaching and guidance to students, as well as data analysis during her internship at the Directorate of Water in Corfu.
Beyond her academic path, she has developed significant organizational and managerial skills through her multi-year professional experience as a Station Manager (Avis) and Office Manager (IGFA) in the car rental industry. She speaks English and French.
