  MA “Security and Cultural Heritage Studies” (SCHER) has been awarded an "excellence" accreditation rating by HAHE (Hellenic Authority for Higher Education), a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) and of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

The Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) Evaluation and Accreditation Council has accredited the Postgraduate Study Programme of Politics, Language & Intercultural Communication of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting of the Ionian University as fully compliant to the Standards for Quality Accreditation of Postgraduate Study Programmes of the HAHE and to the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) for study level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.

The Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) Evaluation and Accreditation Council has accredited the Postgraduate Study Programme of Science of Translation of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting of the Ionian University as fully compliant to the Standards for Quality Accreditation of Postgraduate Study Programmes of the HAHE and to the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) for study level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.

The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) at the Ionian University in Greece and the European Commission co-organise an online Translating Europe Workshop (TEW) on Tuesday, October 8 2024 under the title "AI Τranslation vs Ηuman Τranslation: Τraining Perspectives and the Impact on the Translation Profession".
