Online Translating Europe Workshop "Translation and the use of inclusive language in Greek"
The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) and the European Commission co-organise an online Translating Europe Workshop (TEW) on Friday, December 3, 2021. Attendance is free of charge, but registration on Zoom is required.
Topics to be discussed
Our invited speakers will talk about:
- The importance of inclusive language
- How inclusive language is used within the EU institutions and the Greek public administration.
- How machine translation deals with bias.
- Which methods and tools are available for translators and content creators so they can use inclusive language independent of their working languages.
The speeches will be followed by an online workshop where attendees will be given a chance to use inclusive language in real-world scenarios.
