1st "Young Researchers day conference" on the subject of "Translation and Translation Studies in the Hellenic Community"

On 03/12/2016 the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) organised in association with the Hellenic Society of Translation Studies the 1st "Young Researchers day conference" on the subject of "Translation and Translation Studies in the Hellenic Community". The day conference was held at the Ionian University, Corfu. Guest speakers at the meeting were: Simos Grammenidis, Professor of the AUTh and President of the Hellenic Society of Translation Studies, Panagiotis Alevantis, Office Manager of the General Directorate of Translation of the European Board and Georgios Kentrotis Professor of DFLTI with a rich collection of published translation. During the meeting, young researchers from Greek and foreign universities presented their original work. Therefore, many interesting discussions on various scientific issues took place. Despite the unfavourable circumstances, i.e. ship strikes nationwide, the meeting was quite successful, as it captured the interest of the academic community as a whole and encouraged the attendees coming from other universities to organise the next meeting.
