The Laboratory for Geocultural Analyses (GEOLAB) was founded in 2002 and aims at international collaborations and actions. Director of the Laboratory: Dr. Stavros Katsios, Professor, holder of the UNESCO Chair at the Ionian University.

Actions of GEOLAB
The highly interdisciplinary research and academic work of the Laboratory is supported by individual actions and research programmes.
The Laboratory publishes in various languages. As far as monographs and books are concerned, they are published in collaboration with Papazisis Publications. The researchers of the Laboratory publish articles, working and briefing papers and newsletters.
The Laboratory contributes to the public debate on national and international issues by participating, hosting, or organizing scientific conferences, one-day workshops and round tables and is indicated in the relevant agreement as the execution body for the operations of the UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and to Cultural Heritage Related Activities at the Ionian University.
