ReTrans Project: Latest research findings |
During the two-day conference organised by the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting titled "Exploring the World of Translation" on April 28th and 29th, 2023, the Retrans team had their own session.
In this session, the interpreting students, who are members of the Retrans team, presented the progress of the ongoing project. In particular,
Marina Malini discussed the design of the multilingual survey aimed at researching and understanding how different stakeholders work with interpreters in the four partner countries of the Project. She highlighted the challenges of designing and calibrating an internationally applicable survey.
Marina Tatsidi presented her work on how interpreting quality is perceived by the stakeholders in refugee settings. She used quantitative data collected in Greece from the Retrans survey as well as her findings from the field research conducted within the same project to provide a thorough understanding of the situation by triangulation the data.
Panagiota Efstratiou and Eleni Tsichlakidou discussed the reasoning behind the design and production of a training video on cultural fitness for stakeholders and interpreters in working transit zones. They also provided a preview of the video.
The event was recorded and will be made available with English interpreting.
