Translating Europe Workshop (TEW) ©2024
About TEW

Launched in 2014, the "Translating Europe" project brings together translation stakeholders, such as universities, language industry representatives, freelance translators, translation services of the public sector in the Member States, and professional associations.

"Translating Europe" aims at linking public and private translation stakeholders together, giving visibility to the role of translation and the translation profession, and exchanging good practices. "Translating Europe" events also help to stimulate dialogue and collaborative projects between groups and individuals within translation communities.

TEW 2024

This year's TEW discusses the increasing role of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), in translation and its impact on the profession. As AI advances, translation becomes more technologized, altering job profiles and the skills required for translators. The workshop will explore the theoretical and practical challenges AI presents to professional translators and their training.
