The Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) Evaluation and Accreditation Council has accredited the Postgraduate Study Programme of Politics, Language & Intercultural Communication of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting of the Ionian University as fully compliant to the Standards for Quality Accreditation of Postgraduate Study Programmes of the HAHE and to the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) for study level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.

DFLTI and the Educational Centre of the Embassy of Iran have signed a memorandum of scientific and cultural cooperation.

On 3 March 2020, Dr Maria Aslanidi (Teaching Assistant at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University) gave a speech on “Academic-style writing, research and code of conduct” and shared her knowledge with all participants on research procedure(s) along with the aims, techniques and scientific methodology relating to scientific productions.

On 11 February 2020, Kyriakos Kolessis (Head of the School for Second-chance Education at the Corfu Prison facility) presented an interesting and unique lecture on “The Language of Prison”. The originality of the speech content triggered a truly fruitful dialogue with the audience that included also undergraduate students and non-students.

On 8/3/2016, Assistant Professors Maria Tsigou and Sotirios Livas gave a lecture titled “Linguistic pluralism and human rights in crisis-ridden Europe” at the Solomos Museum, Corfu, within the framework of collaboration between the Laboratory for Language and Politics of DFLTI and the Society for Corfiot Studies.
