Giorgos Damaskinidis

George Damaskinidis has a PhD in Education Sciences. He is a member of the Faculty of Education at Hellenic Open University where he teaches "Research Methodology" courses in the post-graduate programme. He is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Thessaly, where he teaches courses in Translation Studies and Pedagogy. At the University of Western Macedonia he teaches Sociology, Pedagogy and English Terminology. At the post-graduate programme "Semiotics, Communication and Culture" of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki he teaches the course "Multimodal Semiotics: Theory and Applications".

He is a Research Associate at the European University of Cyprus where he has taught research methodology courses in the post-graduate programme in Research Methodology. His research interests focus on visual literacy, multimodal semiotics, multimodal translation and research methodology. He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and scientific conferences and he is the author of six books.
