Methodology: Skopos theory with emphasis on the rules of intratextual cohesion and intertextual coherence, theory of Translation Action and Nord’s didactic model adapted in the prerequisites of translating from a major to a minor language. The texts are chosen from the fields of macroeconomics, international banking and analyses of specialists and experts from different Schools of economic thought, they comprise more than one textual functions as well as neologisms. The purpose is to examine a) the role of the translating instructions in the production of the target-text, b) the documentation of the economic terminology, and c) the ways to translate neologisms that are not included in the Greek economic lexicon. Assessment type: Written Assignment (source text of about 1,000 words).
